Love For You Anniversary Easel Card

Image
Hi Crafting Friend, Do you ever wait until the last minute to do things sometimes, like I do? I looked at my calendar and realized I needed a few cards for friends' upcoming anniversaries and I didn't have any made! I also needed to design a card for this blog post and then write it, so here I am, killing two birds with one stone. The cards were all the same basic design, but this is the one made with all current products.                                                                             The card base is Pretty Peacock cut to 4.25 X 11 then scored, folded and burnished at 2.75 & 5.5 on the long side so that when folded it looks like a small triangle on one side. (reference the photos below) The card front is another piece of Pretty Peacock cut to 4.25 X 5.5  There is a layer of Bubble Bath cardstock cut to 4 X 5.25 and another layer cut to 3.75 X 5 from the Delightfully Eclectic 12 X 12 DSP. (The Pretty Peacock print with white & Bubble Bath hearts) The layer

5 X 7 So Sincere Double D Fun Fold Card

Hi Crafting Friend, I saw a 5 X 7 card by Sam Calcott that she calls the Double D Fun Fold. (thanks for the inspiration Sam) It is a larger card than I usually make, but it was so pretty that I felt compelled to give it a go. She provides all the dimensions and wonderful instructions in her video that you can look up if you'd like to see how its made.  I really liked the gold she used, but unfortunately I didn't have enough of one kind of gold paper to do that so I only used it around the inside panel where you write your message to the recipient. The large print I used reminded me of "kisses" so I fussy cut one of the Xs and popped it up with dimensionals. Its a gorgeous card worthy of giving for a very special occasion. I might play with the size and see if I can come up with a variation in the size I usually make. (4.25 X 5.5) All the products used to make this card are listed below for your convenience. Let me know in the comments if you like this card of if you

Spring 2024 Mini Preview

Hi Crafting Friend, My sincere apologies for not posting last week. A friend of mine had a major surgery on Tuesday. I took her to the hospital then stayed to give her encouragement and support. They ended up keeping her overnight and she requested that I stay with her so I did. (thank goodness my husband was home to take care of Brida, our 4 legged fur kid) My friend wasn't released until about 6pm on Wednesday which is the day I normally prepare my blog to post on Thursday, but I hadn't thought to prepare a post in advance. She lives alone and I was worried about her taking care of herself with no help, so I convinced her to come stay at our house and let me take care of her. By the time we got home, it was about 8pm and I was exhausted from lack of sleep at the hospital. I was out of practice caring for anyone else and it was a rough first couple of days so I didn't get much done around here. It has been a little over a week and she is recovering well and will probably g
