This Treat Box Is So Cute - Give It A Whirl!

Have you ever sat down to create and hit a wall that you can't seem to get around? That's what happened to me when I tried to come up with a cute project for you this week. I knew I wanted to use the Give It A Whirl dies (I've had them for a while, but hadn't yet used them.) I also had the Honeybee Home, Peekaboo Farm, and Sweet Citrus stamps out. I finally conceded defeat to creating an original project and did a search for the Give It a Whirl dies. I found a cute treat box designed by Emma Fawcett. Thank you Emma, for the inspiration! Her project uses Christmas colors and stamps, but the box idea is great for any occasion. 

Some of the colors in the new Hello Irresistible DSP (Online Exclusives) made me think of a juicy grapefruit and the dies also made me think of citrus so I designed my treat box using these great colors (Flirty Flamingo & Daffodil Delight) and the Sweet Citrus stamp set . I had some retired mini brads that I used, but the current Round & Square Brads are in the supply list in case you don't have any on hand. After I got my pictures taken and watermarked, I stumbled upon the Loose Daisy Embellishments which would have been adorable to use if I had found them beforehand. I have added them to the product list below the photos too, just in case you might want them.  Lemonheads hard candies would be great to put into the box to match the citrus theme, don't you agree? Hello Hills of Tuscany Fun Fold Card

 Hi Crafting Friend, Welcome to 2024, the new Mini Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. This Spring Mini catalog is always my favorite, especially when you add the benefits of Sale-A-Bration to it. There are so many adorable stamp sets, dies, DSPs and other goodies! Do you like this catalog as much as I do?  Today's card uses the Hills of Tuscany stamp set. The images were stamped directly onto the DSP, (house - white craft ink, roof - Cherry Cobbler, trees and sentiment - Shaded Spruce) the house was then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The card base is Shaded Spruce cut to 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 and scored on the long side at 2 3/4 and 4 1/4. Fold it in half and then fold the card front back as shown in the photos below.  The Gorgeous Grape layers are 1 7/8 X 5 1/4 for the front and inside left; and 4 X 5 1/4 for the right side.  Cut a 1 inch strip off the top of the DSP to use on another project, then cut 2 pieces, each 1 3/4 wide from the left side (the trees that you sta

Grassy Grove Clean & Simple Card

 Hi Crafting Friend, This card was inspired by a couple of cards I saw on the Facebook Clean & Simple Cardmaking page.  (by Tracey Agli & Darla Anderson Welch) They were both mostly white with some color blending and minor stamping behind the tree dies they used. I thought of these stamps & dies when I saw them.  The card base is 8.5 X 5.5 scored on the long side at 4.25 then folded and burnished to lay flat. The doe and fawn were each die-cut twice, once with Pecan Pie and once with Basic Black then layered together with the black in the front. Place black mini dimensionals as shown in the photo below.  The "moon" is a 1 inch punched Lemon Lolly circle.  The grove of trees was also die-cut twice, once on a 4 X 5.25 piece of Early Eapresso, the second on a piece of Early Espresso just barely bigger than the die itself. The smaller die-cut was off set behind the larger, then Multipurpose Liquid Glue was used at the bottom edge of the smaller die-cut to secure them

Hello Happy Sea Turtle Card

 Hi Stamping Friend, The card I have for you this week is the second of three I designed for the swap using products from the new January-April 2023 Mini catalog and the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I paired the Sea Turtle and Happy Labels stamp sets from the mini catalog with Delicate Edges dies and Texture Chic DSP from the annual catalog. To me they seem made for each other.  This card is really quite simple if you have the basic tools. The DSP makes a perfect background. The turtle is fussy cut, the "seaweed" is die-cut. I gave the seaweed & turtle some dimension by using my bone folder to add some curl to the paper. The turtle is popped up with dimensionals, the seaweed is adhered with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, but I played with it, making sure some areas were slightly raised off the paper so it looks like it could be moving in the water.
