December Paper Pumpkin and Alternate Cards

Image
Hi Crafting Friend, I received December's Paper Pumpkin the other day. I proceeded to make one of each of the 3 designs according to the instructions given. (1st photo below) That left me with 6 card bases, 4 of which were the same design on the front and back, so I cut those in half and by adding some coordinating cardstock, retired DSP from my stash and ink, I ended up making 14 cards from a kit that makes 9 cards. It was fun, but I got tired of the sentiments after a bit, so I brought in the Courage & Faith stamp set for the sentiments on the last 4 cards. What do you think?

July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Cards & Alternatives

Image
Hi Stamping Friend, Have you tried Paper Pumpkin yet? If you haven't you are really missing out on some adorable cards! The top photo is the cards from this month's kit as designed (except for extra ink colors used to jazz up the envelopes). They are so cute, I can't get over it or say it enough!!  The bottom photo is of a few alternate designs that I came up with using some of the coordinating ink colors, sponge daubers and a scrap of Basic White cardstock with some of the remaining kit elements. I still have 3 more card bases and a few more die cuts to play with, but that may not be enough. I think I need a refill! The current host code is:   UCPCQ92X.  Please use it if you choose to order a 1, 3 or 6 month prepaid subscription or a monthly pay as you go subscription. Sale-A-Bration is the best time to purchase a 12 month subscription to Paper Pumpkin, but  don't use the host code  to order 12 months prepaid (or on any order that is $150 or more before t...

Diamond Z Fold Card and a Bit of a Rant.

Image
Hi Stamping Friend, Well let me tell you, the fun never ends around here! My medical oncologist told me on the 12th that my immune system was as good as hers or my husband Brian's - Great News! I was so excited to not be cooped up all the time as I have been.  My kids came up for dinner on the 14th, I made Chicken Paprikash - comfort food. On the 15th I went to physical therapy, grabbed a slice of pizza at Costco for lunch & ate it in my car, then went for a dry run of my radiation which was due to begin on Monday, the 18th.  Every time I went out in public to where there were going to be people I didn't know, I wore a mask as I have been doing all along.  On Sunday afternoon, after coming home from my religious meeting (1st time going in person in months), I had a scratchy throat. I thought it was from talking and trying to sing through a mask. Monday morning I felt pretty bad, took a COVID test and got a negative result. Went to radiation, came home and went b...

July - December 2021 Mini Catalog & 2nd Sale-A-Bration of the Year

Image
Hi Stamping Friend, Can you believe it's August already! Time is a funny thing, hour to hour it sometimes crawls at a snail's pace, but then when you look back you wonder how it went by so quickly. And it gets worse as you get older! I've heard it has to do with the fact that when you are young each increment of time is a larger percentage of your total life span to date. Take, for instance, a 25 year old versus a 50 year old. For the 25 year old each year is 1/25th of their life (4%), for the 50 year old each year is 1/50th (2%). OK, enough of that, I'm rambling now, LOL.  The reason I brought up time is because the new July - December Mini catalog went live yesterday and for the 1st time in Stampin' Up! history we are having a second Sale-A-Bration in a single year!! I think its pretty exciting, don't you?   There are lots of great new products to play with and with Sale-A-Bration you get freebies! If your product order (before tax and shipping) totals $50 yo...

June Paper Pumpkin, Expressions In Color - Alternative Card Designs Round 2

Image
Hi Stamping Friend, Welcome to round 2 of alternative designs for the June Paper Pumpkin kit, Expressions In Color. This was a great kit! I really enjoyed playing with it. In my eyes this one gets 10 out of 10. What do you think?  I used some of the beautiful Expressions In Ink DSP on the Bumblebee & Evening Evergreen card bases. It coordinates so wonderfully with this kit! I stamped the "you are amazing" greeting with versamark and heat embossed it with gold. I flipped the included die-cuts over and used the white side on the printed card base (you could also use the Forever Flourishing Dies to get a similar effect), then I used a scrap of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to mat the "congratulations" greeting which is also stamped with Blackberry Bliss.  If you enjoy my blog, please share it with anyone else you think may also enjoy it.  Have a lovely day!  -  Susan 🌄 🖖 The supply list is below the photo. June Paper Pumpkin, Expressions In Color - Alternative Card Designs

Image
Hi Stamping Friend,  As promised, here are some alternate card designs From the June Paper Pumpkin. I used a few products from my stash along with the supplies in the kit. The first thing I did was play with the alcohol ink and vellum technique, but instead of using the blends, I used my re-inkers and "painted" it on with a sponge brush and sprayed it with alcohol. Then I "painted" on some versa mark and added gold embossing powder. It is a bit of a different look, but I like how it came out. I cut it up and used it on the Evening Evergreen and Bumblebee card bases.  The next thing I added was butterflies cut from Gold 6x6 Metallic Specialty Paper with the Brilliant Wings dies. I also used the "Merci" vellum die-cut instead of the English, "thanks".  If you need a demonstrator, I would love to take care of your crafting needs. My current host code is at the top of the main page. Please use it if your order is less than $150 before tax & shipp...
