Heartfelt Hexagon & Perennial Lavender Sympathy Card
Hi Crafting Friend,
The Perennial Lavender DSP was still on my desk along with the Heartfelt Hexagon stamps and punch so, that's what I started with. Instead of waiting until I need one, I decided to make a Sympathy card with them. I really like the way it looks. What do you think?
Here's how to duplicate it:
CARD BASE
- Crumb Cake cardstock cut to 8 1/2" X 5 1/2"
- Score, Fold and Burnish at 4 1/4" on the long side.
INSERT
- Very Vanilla cardstock 4 1/2" X 4" edged with Pecan Pie ink and a 3/4" X 4" strip of Perennial Lavender DSP edged with Pecan Pie ink adhered next to it on the left side.
CARD FRONT
- Punch 9 - 10 hexagons from the Perennial Lavender DSP and one from Very Vanilla or Crumb Cake cardstock using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Using a Sponge Dauber, ink the edges with Pecan Pie ink. Stamp the sentiment on a light neutral colored DSP hexagon with Pecan Pie ink. Crumb Cake cardstock would be a good substitute for the light neutral colored DSP. Adhere the cardstock hexagon to the back of the sentiment hexagon.
- On the card front, lightly draw horizontal and vertical lines with a pencil to mark the center.
- Using the pencil lines as guides, adhere the hexagon with the sentiment to the center of the card front. Erase the pencil lines.
- Adhere additional hexagons evenly spaced from the first one, covering the entire card front. Some will hang over the sides, trim these even with the edge of the card front.
- Ink the edge of the card front with Pecan Pie ink.
