Creating a Masculine Sympathy Card with Stampin’ Up! Products

Image
Hi Crafting Friend, Sympathy cards can be some of the most meaningful projects we make as card makers. When designing for men, it’s important to keep the tone subtle, calming, and elegant. Today, I’m sharing a masculine sympathy card using some of my favorite Stampin’ Up! products that balance heartfelt sentiment with a beautiful fun fold design from Connie Stewart. For this card, I used: Stamp Set : Unbounded Love & Heartfelt Sympathy (retired)  for the sentiments Paper : Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper for a natural, textured background Cardstock : Mossy Meadow , and Whisper White 3D Embossing Folder:   Forever Plaid Ink : Pecan Pie  and Early Espresso Embellishment : A simple Linen Thread wrap tied in a knot The key to this card is keeping embellishments minimal while using earthy tones and layers to create visual interest. Masculine cards don’t need to be boring—texture and tone go a long way. Thanks for stopping by MissQsCraftingCo...

Crafting for the Stars: Making More Cards for the STLV Swap with Stampin’ Up!

Image
Hi Crafting Friends, If you're like me, prepping for the annual STLV card swap is almost as exciting as the convention itself! There's something magical about connecting with fellow Trekkies through handmade cards—and this year, I'm diving deep into my Stampin’ Up! stash to make sure I have plenty to share. Whether you're using the Stargazing  or Everyday Skies DSP, metallic embossing powders for some nebula shimmer, or space-themed stamp sets, there's no wrong way to go boldly with your creativity. I'm currently working on a few more cards so that hopefully I don’t run out mid-swap. If you're attending STLV, don’t forget to pack extras—you'll be surprised how many people want to trade. Need inspo? Try mixing foil sheets with galaxy backgrounds or use watercolor washes for an abstract planetary feel. And of course, everything looks better with some bling or a little Wink of Stella ✨. Let’s make it the most creative swap yet. See you in the stars (or th...

STLV Craft Swap

Hi Crafting Friend, Attending the Star Trek convention is always an exciting experience filled with cosplay, panels, collectibles—and one of the most fun and personal aspects: swapping fan-made items with fellow Trekkies. Whether you're a veteran crafter or just getting started with your replicator (aka glue gun), making handmade items to trade is a fantastic way to share your love for the franchise and meet other fans. As a card maker, I am making some cards to trade with fellow crafters. Of course, I used many supplies and tools from Stampin' Up! The Stargazing DSP was in the 2023 Annual Catalog. I stocked up so I'd be able to make cards to trade for a few years. Here's a sample of some of the cards I'll be trading this year: There is also a current DSP called Everyday Skies that has some nice designs too. I'll post some cards I make with that DSP next week. Star Trek is all about exploration, connection, and celebrating diversity—and that includes creativity!...
