Puzzle Slider Country Birdhouse Card

 Hi Crafting Friend,

I have a new Fun Fold and a technique for you today. The Fun Fold is called a Puzzle Slider. I wish I could remember where I first saw the card so I could give credit, but unfortunately, I can't. The technique is Mirror Image Stamping. Here is the card, it looks like an uneven gatefold card when it is open.

The bird outside the birdhouse is the one that uses our technique. Creating a mirror image can be done in different ways. To do it the way I'm about to explain, you need a Silicon Craft Sheet. You simply apply ink to your stamp, then stamp your image onto the silicon craft sheet. Quickly cover the image with cardstock and rub gently with your fingers or an acrylic block to transfer the image from the silicon sheet to the cardstock, being careful not to move the cardstock until you lift it up. When you do, Voila! you will see the reverse image on your cardstock!.

The silicon craft sheet is easily cleaned by running it under some water and setting it aside to dry.

The card base for the Puzzle Slider card is 9 1/2" X 4 1/4" scored at 1", 2", 7 1/2" & 8 1/2" on the long side. (Thick Basic White cardstock was used in the sample above) The outside scores are "mountain" folds, the inside scores are "valley" folds.
To make the "puzzle" pieces, start with Basic White cardstock (or whatever color you are using) cut to 5 1/2" X 4 1/4"  The long, horizontal cut (shown below) is at 2 1/8" The two vertical cuts are at 3 1/4" then arranged as shown below and adhered flush with the top, sides and bottom edges of the card base. I found it easier to put the glue on the strips of the card base rather than try to judge where to put it on the pieces.
Once the basic card is finished, decorate as desired. The DSP for the card front is 5 1/4" X 4" The long horizontal cut is at 2" and the two vertical cuts are at 3 1/8" Arrange them on the cardstock pieces, then finish the card to your heart's content. The insert is 5 1/4" X 4"
If you want to know how I finished the sample in the photo, contact me and I will be happp to tell you! All the products that were used are linked below. (the stamps & dies are listed separately and as a bundle, I used markers, but included Watercolor Pencils as another option)
