Lighter Than Air In The Rain

 Hi Crafting Friends,

I know almost everyone else is focusing on the new stuff. (products that will be coming out in May, new kits, and Online Exclusives that just came out) There is plenty of time to give you ideas for those goodies once they get here and you can actually order them for yourself. I am continuing to try to give you ideas and inspiration for cards made with products that you may already have that will be retiring. 

For this week's card the base is Pool Party cut to 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" then scored, folded and burnished at 4 1/4" on the long side. The Basic White insert is 5 1/4" X 4 and adhered inside.

The Lighter Than Air cloud print layer is cut to 5" X 3 3/4" and adhered to the card front. 

Fussy cut some clouds from what is left of the cloud print sheet of DSP and set them aside for now. Fussy cut the balloons you want to use from the balloon print in that pack of DSO and set them aside also.

The Vellum layer is cut to 5" X 3 3/4".  Apply some Pool Party ink to the raised raindrops on the embossing folder, then run it through the embossing machine with the Vellum. Adhere the embossed Vellum layer to the DSP layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue under the areas where you will put the balloons and the clouds. Adhere the ballons and clouds with Mini Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This card doesn't have a sentiment on it, but you could always add one to the upper left of the card front on a label, or inside if you prefer. The products used are linked below the photo. 

As an alternative, if you got the Sunny Days DSP during Sale-A-Bration (not in the product list) you could use the cloud and rain prints form that instead of the Lighter Than Air cloud print, the embossing folder and the Vellum.

Hello Hills of Tuscany Fun Fold Card

 Hi Crafting Friend, Welcome to 2024, the new Mini Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. This Spring Mini catalog is always my favorite, especially when you add the benefits of Sale-A-Bration to it. There are so many adorable stamp sets, dies, DSPs and other goodies! Do you like this catalog as much as I do?  Today's card uses the Hills of Tuscany stamp set. The images were stamped directly onto the DSP, (house - white craft ink, roof - Cherry Cobbler, trees and sentiment - Shaded Spruce) the house was then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The card base is Shaded Spruce cut to 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 and scored on the long side at 2 3/4 and 4 1/4. Grassy Grove Clean & Simple Card

 Hi Crafting Friend, This card was inspired by a couple of cards I saw on the Facebook Clean & Simple Cardmaking page.  (by Tracey Agli & Darla Anderson Welch) They were both mostly white with some color blending and minor stamping behind the tree dies they used. I thought of these stamps & dies when I saw them.  The card base is 8.5 X 5.5 scored on the long side at 4.25 then folded and burnished to lay flat. The doe and fawn were each die-cut twice, once with Pecan Pie and once with Basic Black then layered together with the black in the front. Place black mini dimensionals as shown in the photo below.  The "moon" is a 1 inch punched Lemon Lolly circle.  The grove of trees was also die-cut twice, once on a 4 X 5.25 piece of Early Eapresso, the second on a piece of Early Espresso just barely bigger than the die itself. Hello Happy Sea Turtle Card

 Hi Stamping Friend, The card I have for you this week is the second of three I designed for the swap using products from the new January-April 2023 Mini catalog and the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I paired the Sea Turtle and Happy Labels stamp sets from the mini catalog with Delicate Edges dies and Texture Chic DSP from the annual catalog. To me they seem made for each other.  This card is really quite simple if you have the basic tools. The DSP makes a perfect background. The turtle is fussy cut, the "seaweed" is die-cut. I gave the seaweed & turtle some dimension by using my bone folder to add some curl to the paper. The turtle is popped up with dimensionals, the seaweed is adhered with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, but I played with it, making sure some areas were slightly raised off the paper so it looks like it could be moving in the water.
