Sending Love To My Sister

 Hi Crafting Friend,

One of my sisters is going through a tough time right now and I wanted to encourage her. I thought the Sending Love stamps & dies were perfect for the job, so I made this card for her and decided to have it do double duty as my blog post this week too.

The card base is Azure Afternoon cardstock cut to 8 1/2 X 5 1/2. It is scored at 4 1/4, folded with the raised score on the inside of the fold and burnished with the bone folder so it lays nice and flat.

The front of the card utilizes die-cut images adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (except the bird, it is adhered with a Dimensional)

The post for the mailbox is Early Espresso and the mailbox itself is Gray Granite and is scored so it folds easily. Attach the Real Red flag to the mailbox with a small, black, round brad. This holds the flag and allows it to move. Adhere the left end and the bottom of the mailbox closed, then adhere the mailbox to the post on the front of the card. The bow on the white envelope inside the mailbox is Real Red. The envelope is just slid inside the mailbox. In fact, the door folds up and hides it inside while its in the envelope for mailing, but "pops open" when the card is removed form the envelope.

The grass is Garden Green. The blades of grass were not adhered. Instead, the bone folder was used to give them a bit of curl so they would stand up off the front of the card.

The bird was stamped with Early Espresso on Basic white, then colored with Pecan Pie and a sponge dauber before die-cutting it and adhering it to the front of the card with a dimensional.

The "cancellation" on the flap of the envelope is stamped with Early Espresso and the circular sentiments are stamped with Real Red.

I cut a small piece of computer paper and stamped some hearts on it and slipped them inside the envelope as a little surprise.
The insert is Basic White cut to 3 3/4 X 5 The stripes were stamped with Azure Afternoon.
Stampin' Write markers in Early Espresso, Real Red, and Blueberry Bushel were used to ink the sentiment in stages before stamping. Alternatively, you could stamp the sentiment with Azure Afternoon, Early Espresso or Real Red.
