Perennial Postage Stack, Slice & Shuffle 4 Pack

Hi Crafting Friend,

I had crafter's block this week. I finally got inspired after seeing some cards made with the stack, slice and shuffle technique. I know I've shown this technique before, but I did a twist on it. I cut on angles instead of vertically and horizontally and then left a tiny gap as I adhered the pieces of DSP so the layer underneath showed between the pieces of DSP and bordered them.

All of the card bases are Crumb cake.

Two are cut to 8 1/2 X 5 1/2.

"Sending love and best wishes" is stamped with Gorgeous Grape and has a Highland Heather layer. It is a standard card, scored, folded and burnished at 4 1/4

"You mean the world to me" is stamped with Blackberry Bliss with the same color layer. It is a gatefold, scored, folded, and burnished at 2 1/8 & 6 3/8.

The other two card bases are cut to 4 1/4 X 11, scored, folded, and burnished at 5 1/2.

"I know you will get through this" is stamped with Pretty Peacock with the same color layer.

"Big hugs" is stamped with Berry Burst with the same color layer.

All the inserts are Very Vanilla cut to 4 X 5 1/4. All the cardstock layers are 4 X 5 1/4. The 4 DSP prints are all 3 3/4 X 5. Stack the DSP and cut all 4 pieces at the same time, then arrange them so that you have 4 different arrangements that use one of each DSP print. Adhere each arrangement to a cardstock layer, then adhere them to the card fronts. All the sentiments are stamped on Very Vanilla, die-cut and layered onto die-cut Crumbcake, then adhered to the card front with Dimensionals.

I'm quite pleased with the results, especially after the frustration of not knowing what I was going to do when I began. What do you think? 1. I am definitely going to give this a try. I am stumped on the gatefold though. Your card doesn’t look like a gate fold. But I’ll make the others for sure. Pretty paper.

    1. If you look at the photo of the open card you can see that the card base opens as a gatefold and the back of the card front is completely on the left side of the photo because it is only adhered on that side. I hope this helps.
