Hello There, Beauty Of The Deep Card
Hi Crafting Friend,
The Beauty of the Deep stamps and dies were one of the 1st bundles I purchased from this year's annual catalog. I just love this bundle and I used it to make a swap card back when the new catalog came out. I did not save my "recipe" for the card because normally I would have gotten one of my own cards back and been able to use it as a reference to make another when needed. For some reason, this time I didn't get one back. I have been wanting to recreate it and today's card is my attempt. Its not an exact duplicate because I can't remember the colors I used then, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
The card base is Lost Lagoon, cut to 8.5 X 5.5, scored on the long side at 4.25, folded and burnished with the bone folder.
A Basic White insert to write on inside is optional. (4 X 5.25) If used, you can stamp on it to coordinate with the outside of the card. You can also stamp on your envelope to make a fully matched set.
The "water" layer is Pool Party, cut to 4 X 5.25. On it I stamped the "sand" at the bottom with Basic Gray, the lacy looking plant with Old Olive, and the sentiment (from the Around The Bend stamp set) with Lost Lagoon. The layer is adhered to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The "anchor" was stamped with Basic Gray on Smoky Slate cardstock, then die-cut and adhered to the card front layer with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
The 3 "plants in the foreground were die-cut from Garden Green, but the tall one on the right was first stamped with Old Olive. The tall "plant" was adhered with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. The "coral" was stamped with Calypso Coral on Basic White, then die-cut and adhered to the "water" layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The tiny "plant" on the anchor and the other "plant" were adhered with tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I left the edges of the larger "plant" on top of the "coral" loose and curled them slightly to lift them up and give some dimension to it.
On Basic White, the "sea urchin," and the small "plant" behind the "coral," were stamped with Old Olive. They were die-cut and I used a sponge dauber with Pool Party ink to color the edges so it would blend into the "water" layer better. The fish were stamped with Azure Afternoon and Sweet Sorbet. All the die-cut pieces were then adhered to the card front layer with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, except for the "coral" which was adhered with liquid glue.
The list of products I used is below the photo with links if you would care to purchase anything from me. Thanks so much for stopping by, Live Long & Craft On! - Susan 🌄🖖
