Nature's Prints On My Mind Card

Hi Crafting Friend,

We're playing with Nature's Prints stamps and Natural Prints dies this week. The card base is Blueberry Bushel cut at 4 1/4 X 11 and scored at 5 1/2 so that the card opens vertically.

The embossed layer is Basic White, embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. For this card I chose to define the background of the embossed image by inking the front of the E.F. with Crumb Cake before embossing it. (the side with the line and the logo printed on it) To do this just drag the open ink pad across the inside of the open embossing folder on the side you want to define/highlight. Position your cardstock on the uninked side then close the E.F. so that the inked side makes contact wtih the cardstock and run it through the machine. I love how it adds to the distressed look of the design, don't you?

The focal point is comprised of a 2 5/8 Basic White square randomly stamped with the texture stamp and Cajun Craze ink, (stamp off once each time you ink the stamp before you apply it to the square) then layer that onto a 2 7/8 Blueberry Bushel square. Adhere the whole thing to your card front.

The other elements are stamped with Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Garden Green then die-cut. The fern was stamped twice, the 2nd time it was stamped onto the Silicone Craft Sheet. Lay the cardstock over the ink then press on it and rub in a circular motion while holding the cardstock in place to transfer the mirror image of the fern. To die-cut the mirror image, hold it up to a bright light as you position the die on the reverse side of the image. Secure it in place with washi or some other repositionable tape then run it through your die cutting machine.Use your Bone Folder to add some curl/dimension to the die-cuts then position them in a way that you like and adhere them to the layered squares.

The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of Basic White that was die-cut with the smallest Scalloped Contours rectangle die. Adhere it to the card front with Dimensionals. Add a bow of Baker's Twine adhered with a Glue Dot and a 4 X 5 1/4 insert to finish off the card.
