Framed Beautiful Thistle Card

 Hi Stamping Friend,

The card I'm sharing with you today is very basic, it is a portrait orientation that opens vertically. A layer with a stamped, die-cut focal point on the front and an insert inside. A sponge dauber with Highland Heather brought some definition to the edges of the focal point (fussy cut around the die-cut hearts) and to the insert. I used the Beautiful Thistles stamp set with the technique where you apply ink to the stamp with markers instead of an ink pad for all my stamped images. The colors I used are Gorgeous Grape from the Stampin' Write Brights collection, and Old Olive from the Stampin' Write Regals collection. This allowed me to "color" my thistles while stamping them and to change the sentiment slightly to suit what I wanted to say (because I chose not to ink all the words). I also used the Stampin' Write Gorgeous Grape marker to color the baker's twine and give it a variegated look.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out. What do you think? Please leave a comment. Hello Hills of Tuscany Fun Fold Card

 Hi Crafting Friend, Welcome to 2024, the new Mini Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. This Spring Mini catalog is always my favorite, especially when you add the benefits of Sale-A-Bration to it. There are so many adorable stamp sets, dies, DSPs and other goodies! Do you like this catalog as much as I do?  Today's card uses the Hills of Tuscany stamp set. The images were stamped directly onto the DSP, (house - white craft ink, roof - Cherry Cobbler, trees and sentiment - Shaded Spruce) the house was then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The card base is Shaded Spruce cut to 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 and scored on the long side at 2 3/4 and 4 1/4. Fold it in half and then fold the card front back as shown in the photos below.  The Gorgeous Grape layers are 1 7/8 X 5 1/4 for the front and inside left; and 4 X 5 1/4 for the right side.  Cut a 1 inch strip off the top of the DSP to use on another project, then cut 2 pieces, each 1 3/4 wide from the left side (the trees that you sta

Grassy Grove Clean & Simple Card

 Hi Crafting Friend, This card was inspired by a couple of cards I saw on the Facebook Clean & Simple Cardmaking page.  (by Tracey Agli & Darla Anderson Welch) They were both mostly white with some color blending and minor stamping behind the tree dies they used. I thought of these stamps & dies when I saw them.  The card base is 8.5 X 5.5 scored on the long side at 4.25 then folded and burnished to lay flat. The doe and fawn were each die-cut twice, once with Pecan Pie and once with Basic Black then layered together with the black in the front. Place black mini dimensionals as shown in the photo below.  The "moon" is a 1 inch punched Lemon Lolly circle.  The grove of trees was also die-cut twice, once on a 4 X 5.25 piece of Early Eapresso, the second on a piece of Early Espresso just barely bigger than the die itself. Hello Happy Sea Turtle Card

 Hi Stamping Friend, The card I have for you this week is the second of three I designed for the swap using products from the new January-April 2023 Mini catalog and the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I paired the Sea Turtle and Happy Labels stamp sets from the mini catalog with Delicate Edges dies and Texture Chic DSP from the annual catalog. To me they seem made for each other.  This card is really quite simple if you have the basic tools. The DSP makes a perfect background. The turtle is fussy cut, the "seaweed" is die-cut. I gave the seaweed & turtle some dimension by using my bone folder to add some curl to the paper. The turtle is popped up with dimensionals, the seaweed is adhered with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, but I played with it, making sure some areas were slightly raised off the paper so it looks like it could be moving in the water.
